Coming to this screen
- Create / edit fiscal years — opening dates, period boundaries, status transitions (Active → Soft Close → Hard Close). Requires write access to b1 schema (currently read-only).
- Monthly sub-periods — sub-divide each FY into 12 months, each with its own open/closed status, so a single month can be locked without locking the whole year.
- Calendar overrides — non-standard period boundaries (4-4-5, 13-period, country-specific tax years).
- Hard-close workflow — run Period Close checks → review residual blockers → mark period Closed → posting refused with HTTP 423.
- Period reopen audit — log every Closed → Active transition with actor + reason, so reopens are traceable for SOX-equivalent controls.
Note: hard-close action remains a b1 finance-team operation until b2 has write access to
GL_FIN_YEAR (post-IAM, ADR-005). Until then, this screen is read-only and the lock is enforced from whatever b1 records.
